36th annual Kinder Houston Area Survey

This report tracks area residents’ perspectives on the economy, traffic and crime, noting their declining fear of crime and the ethnic differences in their comfort in calling the police for assistance. It documents their continuing positive assessments of life in the Houston area and their growing preference for “walkable urbanism.” It also documents the paradoxical increase in the numbers who believe, despite well-documented realities, that a high school diploma is sufficient to be successful in today’s economy.
