The annual Kinder Institute Luncheon — one of Rice University's most anticipated events of the year — brings together hundreds of Houston business, nonprofit and community leaders to learn about the leading issues facing the city and country. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner was honored with the Stephen L. Klineberg Award for his leadership and many contributions to the city. Kinder Institute Director Dr. Ruth N. López Turley presented findings from the 42nd Kinder Houston Area Survey and discussed other ongoing research initiatives.
