Hundreds gathered at the 2022 Kinder Institute Luncheon to honor the institute's founding director, Stephen Klineberg. For 41 years, he has tracked the changing attitudes of Houston-area residents through his annual Kinder Houston Area Survey. Ahead of his retirement from Rice University, Klineberg reflected on the impact of his research and shared his hopes for the future of the city and survey.
The institute also presented the Stephen L. Klineberg Award to Anne S. Chao, community leader, philanthropist, educator and historian, for her passionate efforts in advancing the appreciation for diversity in Houston.
