The Kinder Institute for Urban Research, in partnership with The Montrose Center and the Greater Houston LGBT Chamber of Commerce, is launching Greater Houston's first-ever LGBTQ+ panel study — creating a new way for LGBTQ+ residents to share their lived experiences and help shape local policy.
The study will explore residents' neighborhood conditions, social and personal connections, access to health care and basic needs, workplace situations, financial security and discrimination experiences. Findings will be shared with local leaders, nonprofits and community members to inform efforts to improve quality of life for LGBTQ+ residents and the broader community.
The panel will include residents across Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris (including the city of Houston), Liberty, Montgomery and Waller counties.
Questions can be directed to lgbtqsurvey@rice.edu or 713-348-4132.
