To better prepare students for the future workforce, it is important to understand the evolving and changing workforce needs. Beyond identifying which jobs are likely to be high growth and in high demand, it is also important to focus on job opportunities that will offer individuals a sustainable wage that allows them to begin saving for emergencies and the future.
Research by the Kinder Institute's Houston Education Research Consortium examines a variety of factors that impact postsecondary readiness, including programs of study that currently exist for high school students to prepare them for these jobs. This event will share research findings and highlight a new, interactive tool that can be used by educators, counselors, school districts, nonprofits, students and families in guiding decisions about pathways in high school that could set students up for success after graduation.
PNC is the presenting sponsor of the Kinder Institute's Education Research Engagement Series.
