Presenting findings from the 46th Kinder Houston Area Survey

Registration at 11 a.m. | Luncheon at noon

Join civic leaders, community members and researchers May 10 for a first look at the 2027 Kinder Houston Area Survey, one of the nation's longest-running studies of a metropolitan area.

The survey will draw on the voices of thousands of residents across Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston and Montgomery counties, diving into the lived experiences, perspectives and priorities of our region. The findings help guide meaningful action on Houston’s most pressing urban challenges.

Your support matters. Funds raised through the luncheon ensure the Kinder Institute’s partner-driven research remains a public good that's freely accessible to all.

  • For tables and tickets: Purchase online or fill out and return this printable form by April 16. See the section below for sponsorship opportunities.

Stephen L. Klineberg Award Honoree

The luncheon will honor Ann B. Stern, former president and CEO of Houston Endowment, whose leadership fostered partnerships across the public, private and nonprofit sectors that have left a lasting mark on the region.

Ann B. Stern

Under Stern's decade-plus stewardship, the foundation directed more than $100 million annually toward public education, civic engagement, arts and culture, and greenspace across the region. She also oversaw its 2022 move to a new, sustainability-focused headquarters and championed the Jones Artist Awards to support local talent. A native Houstonian, Stern previously served as executive vice president of Texas Children’s Hospital, where she saw the life-changing impact of world-class healthcare as well as the challenges facing people living in poverty.

About the award: Named for the Kinder Institute's founding director, the Stephen L. Klineberg Award honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on Greater Houston. It has been presented to Charles C. Foster (2026), Ric Campo (2025), Dr. Marc L. Boom (2024), Mayor Sylvester Turner (2023), Dr. Anne Chao (2022), Robert Eury (2021), the Rev. William Lawson (2020), Jeff Hines (2019), Angela Blanchard (2018) and Tom Bacon (2017).
