In the latest episode of the Urban Edge podcast, staff writer Leah Binkovitz speaks with senior editor Ryan Holeywell about the challenges facing homeless youth in Houston.

Binkovitz -- who reports on the topic for her new Housing of Houston blog series -- followed the story of Lala, a young person who became homeless after leaving her mother's home when she wouldn't accept Lala's homosexuality.

Binkovitz explains why Lala's story is not uncommon, and she elaborates on efforts being taken by the City of Houston and local nonprofits to address the challenge of youth homelessness.
