Scott Beyer

Urban affairs journalist Scott Beyer shares how a free-market approach to housing, transportation, public administration and more can create more livable cities.

About Scott Beyer

Scott Beyer owns Market Urbanism Report, a media company advocating for free-market city policy. He owns a spinoff consulting firm — Beyer Policy — that tries to make these reforms a political reality.

In 2015, he embarked on a 3-year cross-country trip, living for a month each in 30 different U.S. cities, to write a book about how they can be revived through market urbanism.

Beyer is also an urban affairs journalist who writes regular columns for Independent Institute, Governing Magazine, and HousingOnline.com. He freelances for other publications, and does frequent media interviews on TV, radio and podcast.
