The Houston area lacks reliable data on housing quality and safety, prompting the Kinder Institute to launch the Housing Quality Registry in 2024 to gather information directly from residents. Early survey findings will be released in December, and the registry will continue collecting responses to strengthen future analysis.
Data will be used to identify needs and provide guidance to local organizations and agencies working to improve housing conditions of Houston-area residents. The study is a collaborative effort between the Kinder Institute and several such organizations.
To be a part of this study, you must be:
- at least 18 years old;
- a current resident of the Houston area; and,
- able to answer questions about where you live
Responses will be combined to inform housing advocates and local leaders about where resources are most needed. Participation is voluntary and confidential. Survey participants have a chance to win a $15 gift card.
