Matthew Krause is a GIS analyst at Rice University's Kinder Institute for Urban Research providing spatial analysis and technical support for the Urban Data Platform. Prior to joining the Kinder Institute, he worked at BallotReady as a researcher supporting the organization’s mission to provide greater access to election information for voters to make informed choices. Additionally, he worked at Municipal GIS Partners as a GIS specialist-in-training, providing GIS services such as data management and data visualization for local government offices. Krause earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in political science and also geography and GIS. He also earned a certificate in global security from the Program in Arms Control and Domestic and International Security.
