Hasty Johnson joined Hines in 1978 and is now vice chairman. As the most senior executive in Hines’ Office of Investments, he is responsible for investments and is a member of the executive and investment committees. He served as CFO from 1992 until 2012, and prior to that led the development or redevelopment of numerous projects. He initiated the Hines acquisition program and the firm’s investment management business.

Johnson graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science in industrial engineering and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. In addition to his work on the Kinder Institute Advisory Board, he is a board member for Project Row Houses, a non-profit serving Houston’s Third Ward to transform the community through art, history and culture.

Johnson has served on the Kinder Institute for Urban Research's advisory board since 2015.
