Aimee VonBokel studied history in the American Culture Department at the University of Michigan, where she earned her Ph.D. in 2013. She has since worked as the Lynette S. Autrey visiting professor in the Humanities Research Center at Rice University and as an assistant professor/faculty fellow in the Museum Studies Program at New York University. She has taught courses at the Murphy Institute for Labor Studies in NYC and at Washington University in St. Louis. Her work on race, real estate, and inter-generational wealth can be found in academic journals including the Canadian Journal of History, the Public Historian, and the Journal of Urban History (forthcoming). Articles designed to reach a wider audience have appeared in publications such as the St. Louis American, City Limits, and the Conversation.
