In this inaugural issue, we would like to describe some of our activities during the past few months and to share with you our vision of the institute as we begin our second year of operation.

This issue highlights our core research programs, such as the Kinder Houston Area Survey and the Panel Study on American Religion and Ethnicity, which complement the initiatives being developed through ongoing programs and other research projects that focus on Houston’s diverse communities.
