Anthony Jimenez is a doctoral candidate of the University of Minnesota's sociology department.
Born and raised in El Paso, Jimenez is interested in health care, immigration and citizenship, along with the racial politics surrounding the U.S.-Mexico border. Additionally, as a self-taught musician, Jimenez is also interested in the nexus between creativity and transformative politics. As a Kinder Institute Scholar, Jimenez is assessing the ways in which immigrants and refugees navigate Harris County's health care infrastructure, examining the consequences of contemporary health care policy on immigrants and the organizations that serve them.
Jimenez received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas at El Paso.
